I have cleaned, de-rusted and painted as much of the bulkhead as possible, without removing the engine or windscreen wiper motor, which seems very tricky to get at, with bolts behind the ECU wiring in the passenger leg well. Here are before, during and after photos.
The bottom part of the inner wing isn't easy to reach, but I hope to get better access once the wings are removed, and so part of the engine compartment is still to be done. Scraping away the paint and underseal did unfortunately reveal a hole right through the nearside inner wing, just above the chassis. Welding needed.
