Inner wing rebuild

In order to get the car back on the road before the summer ends I decided to patch up the rear wings with 2-part filler, and will return to work on them next winter. They both need the back end cutting away, beneath the rear lamp fitting, and a new piece of steel shaped up.

Bonnet tape and trim

I'm almost ready to put the wing back on. I have found a roll of rather bright green tape to use as a trim between the inner and outer wings, and have tacked new bonnet tape around the scuttle and rivetted it around the front cowl.

Back in one piece

In time for the summer weather, I've got everything back in one piece, and was pleased to find the car started straight away after 5 months in the shed! The offside and the rear wings are still to be sorted ... next winter. The last week has been spent sorting out rusted connections to both front wing side lights and the reversing light; waiting ages for an exhaust lower gasket to arrive; cleaning the idle valve (which didn't seem very dirty, so may not have been the issue with the poor running when hot); attempting to polish the paintwork; and of course putting back the lights, cowl, bumpers, exhaust pipe, luggage rack and bonnet. I also fitted n ew bonnet stays today.
